Beautician-Hair Styling and Hair Extension

Rosewood College is expanding its Beautician and Esthetician program to meet growing demand. Graduates of our 22 weeks Beautician and Esthetician program will be able to return to the College for an additional semester to complete the Hair Styling and Hair Extension program.

Hair styling and hair extensions is an industry that is forever changing, fast paced and rewarding. Qualified stylists are in great demand with numerous employment opportunities and growth filled future.

Students will learn all about the various artificial and natural hair used and how to measure wigs, toupees and hairpieces. There are many types of extensions used today to create longer looks in short hair, we will learn about them and how they are installed.

Students will gain the knowledge required to determine the best method for applying, styling and applying hair extensions to all different hair types. Upon completing this program, students are prepared to enter the employment market that gives them on the job experience.

Our Hairstyling and Hair Extension courses are designed to reflect industry trends and provide students with a comprehensive background through lectures and demos. These courses will provide students with the opportunity to develop confidence, perfect their newly acquired skills and understand client expectations. These courses cover comprehensive knowledge and practical application and prepare students to incorporate hair design into their own business.

The Hair Styling course covers every aspect of hair styling from the very basic to bridal hair. Students will teach students fundamental skills in the art of finishing hair with the instruction of blow drying, finger setting, and roller setting. Students will learn how to create their own designs for up-dos and how to manipulate the hair.

The Hair Extension course provides students with a thorough understanding of various types of hair extensions available in today’s market. Our students will learn how to identify different types of textures, assess the quality of different brands and blending techniques. This course is ideal for hairstylists looking to expand on additional services and generate more revenue.

Both courses strictly focus on hair styling and hair extension and does not include any washing, cutting and/or shampooing.

This diploma program is the perfect program for graduates who are ambitious and determined in opening their own businesses and becoming entrepreneurs. Students will graduate with knowledge and experience to successfully launch their careers if they wish to work in the spa industry as professionals Beautician and Estheticians, managers and beauty advisors.

Roles of a Esthetician

As a Beauty and Esthetics technician you will have the option to work at various places such as department stores, salons, spas and resorts. Some even have the opportunity to become self employed and operate private salons or provide mobile service.

As a technician you may perform a variety of tasks which includes but not limited to removing facial hair through waxing, lash and brow treatments, applying makeup and advising client on make-up application techniques, performing manicures and pedicures.

 

Program Courses

This course covers topic such as hand and fingernail anatomy including French polish application. The key focus of the course is to teach students the most important tools and skills used when working in a full-service salon.

Students will also learn the fundamentals of artificial nail services including procedures and techniques used in acrylic nails & gel nails, nail tips, nail fills, nail art and removal.

This course incorporates theory and practical application which consists of daily lectures, demonstrations, and practical work. You will gain the confidence and knowledge to meet the demands of the Beauty and Bridal Industry. The course is specifically designed to teach students the business as a freelance artist, which includes how to build clientele, increase profits and develop a competitive platform.

Students are taught all levels of the makeup artistry program thoroughly demonstrates technical application, precision, client/artist communication, creativity.

Students will graduate with knowledge and experience to successfully launch their careers if they wish to work in the spa industry as professionals Estheticians, managers and beauty advisors.

This course incorporates theory and practical application to provide students with the greatest understanding of the profession.

Students are given hands-on training in performing in-depth client consultations.

This course also prepares students to properly diagnose the different skin types and conditions to diagnose their client’s specific needs. This is an essential skill for any beauty therapist and it is one of the most requested services.

This course is an introduction to the hair styling procedures, we will focus on the importance of Hygiene, Sanitation and Disinfection.

This course is specifically designed to give the students fundamental skills in the art of finishing hair with the instruction of blow drying, finger setting, and roller setting and long hairdressing to be successful in the hairdressing industry.

In this course, you will be able to enhance skills from the previous course. Students will begin to utilize hairpieces and extensions into your up-dos.

In the final term of this course students will learn how to create their own designs for an up-do and how to manipulate the hair for the final results.

In this course, students will learn the underlying principles of using different types of hair which includes but not limited to curly, straight, synthetic hair, human hair, application systems such as clip in, sewing and weaving.

In this course, students will learn how to portion the hair and focus on hair braiding techniques for all hair textures.

In this course, students will learn how to apply clip ins to natural hair and portion the hair to reflect a natural look.

In this course, students will learn this popular extension method in which the hair is braided up in a unique braided pattern which will serve as the base for the wefts of hair to be sewn in.
