  • Admission Requirements

    Domestic Student Admission: Student must meet ONE of the following criteria:

    1. 18 years of age or older

    2. Alberta high school Diploma, verified through transcript, or non-Alberta equivalent or

    At least 60% in the following courses or their equivalents:

    English Language Arts 30-1 or English Language Arts 30-2

    International Student Admission: Student must meet ALL of the following criteria:

    In addition to the standard admission requirements, international students are required to fulfill the following requirements: High School Diploma transcript verification, or by completing a recognized post-secondary degree or diploma program in Canada. To meet this requirement the program must have involved at least two full years of full-time, consecutive academic study in English, and proof of English language proficiency.

    Transcript Verification of International Students:

    High School diploma transcripts shall be verified via any of the following standard verification agencies:

    · World Education Services (WES) Or

    · International Qualifications Assessments (IQAS)

    Proof of English Language Proficiency for International Students Under Standard Admission

    All international students need to provide proof of their English language proficiency regardless of citizenship or country of origin. All test results must have been obtained within two years of the start date of the program. IELTS (Academic) and TOEFL results are valid for two years from the day of testing. Results that expire prior to the start date of the HCA program will not be accepted. The most widely accepted and recognized language proficiency tests are:

    IELTS Academic, CELPIP General, Pearson, CAEL.

    TOEFL iBT minimum overall score of 70

    Duolingo minimum overall score of 105

    MATURE ADMISSION PREREQUISITS

    Domestic and International Students

    · 18 years of age or older

    · Proof of their English language proficiency

    All students under Mature Admission must provide proof of their English language proficiency regardless of citizenship or country of origin. All test results must have been obtained within two years of the start date of the program. IELTS (Academic) and TOEFL results are valid for two years from the day of testing. Results that expire prior to the start date of the MOA program will not be accepted.
